Administrators SEL Training Workshop

In this workshop, administrators will participate in a highly interactive, hands-on approach to learning, understanding and engaging in Social Emotional Learning skills (SEL).  Leaders who work in decision-making roles will benefit from gaining a functional understanding of SEL and the applications embedded in this ever-growing field of education. To make sound and thoughtful decisions surrounding how to best acquire and incorporate SEL into your school or district, it is necessary that school leaders become versed and committed to the evidence-based benefits of SEL.  

This workshop is 3.0 hours in duration and is equally effective for large or small groups.  Components of the workshop include:

·      Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Foundations

·      SEL statistics and evidenced-based research

·      What happens when SEL skills are underdeveloped?

·      SEL and the impact on social, emotional and academic growth

·      Why adults need SEL skills

·      Introduction to CASEL and what the organization does

·      Introduce and teach the 5 SEL competencies identified by CASEL

·      Administrator SEL survey: What are your areas of strength?  Challenge?

·      How do your SEL strengths serve you as an administrator and colleague?

·      How do your SEL challenges impact you as an administrator and colleague?

·      Celebrating individual and collective successes

·      Identifying Individual and collective SEL goals going forward
